Anti-Islanding Protection:

This is a critical safety requirement. The inverter must immediately cease current injection if the grid power is lost (i.e., it detects an "island").

  • Passive Methods: Monitoring voltage and frequency deviations (e.g., rate of change of frequency - ROCOF).
  • Active Methods: Injecting a slight disturbance into the output current that causes a measurable frequency or voltage shift only when the grid source is absent.
